Group Yoga Classes in Crystal Palace, SE19 and South Norwood,SE25

Yoga Classes in Crystal Palace and South Norwood for all abilities, taught by experienced British Wheel of Yoga Diploma Teacher.
You don't have to be young, fit and flexible to start (or indeed, continue) practising yoga, although you may feel all of those as a result of your practice.
Classes include asanas (postures), pranayama (breath/energy control), meditation and relaxation.
Beginners and more experienced students welcome.
These are 90 minute classes and there are usually between 8 and 12 students at each class - however this can vary.

  • Just turn up, or get in touch for more details.
  • Classes at both venues cost £11.00 per hour-and-a-half (90 minutes) session. Concessions available at £7.00
  • These classes have a Loyalty Card scheme in operation - buy 10 classes, and get the 11th free! You can use your card at either class.
  • Classes run throughout the year, except for certain dates - see below
  • Do try to arrive on time, or a little early. If you are slightly late (e.g. 5 mins) you may either enter very quietly, or wait until the initial quiet period of relaxation & and breathing is over, and then join us. When you do come in, please lay your mat out quietly, as any noise can disturb those already in relaxation

Monday evenings

Phoenix Centre, Westow Street, Crystal Palace, SE19 3AF (next to Sainsbury's supermarket)

Parking (free - up to 4 hours) is available in the uncovered shoppers car park below and behind Sainsbury's in Coxwell Rd. The covered Sainsbury's car park has a 3 hour limit and closes at 9.30pm.

South Norwood Yoga


Wednesday evenings

7.30 to 9.00pm

Waterside Centre, Woodvale Avenue/Avenue Road, South Norwood, SE25 4DX (next to the main entrance to South Norwood lake)

Parking - free on the street outside. 

This is a lovely venue which overlooks the lake - especially nice when the days are longer, and we can see and hear the birds while we practise yoga! ​

Good to know

Do wear comfortable clothing – a T-shirt and tracksuit trousers or leggings are ideal - plus you may want an extra layer or two to put on during the final period of relaxation, as the body can cool down rapidly when it is still

If you have your own mat, do bring it; if not, there are usually a few spare mats available to borrow on a first come, first served basis, so please come early. Good quality Yoga mats for sale - you can buy one at the class if you let me know in advance - The mats are washable, slip-resistant ('sticky'), size 1.85m x 0.66m (c.72 x 26 inches) x 4.0mm thick. Colours vary.

Make sure your phone is switched off or silent during the class.

Leave a minimum of 1½-2 hours after eating a light snack, or 3 to 4 hours after a heavier meal before attending a class, otherwise you may have indigestion or feel uncomfortable!

You may like to bring a bottle of water.
